I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Sanny Apfel, the fantastic host of the podcast "From Fear to Flow". The conversation was genuine and insightful, and we covered a wide range of topics.

We talked about the beliefs we tend to have about learning, the path to discovering our unique strengths for mastering new skills (I talked about learning Spanish, of course), and we explored how fear can affect our learning process.

We also discussed where these fears come from and how to approach them. We even talked about how life in the countryside can be great, even for urbanites like myself who have lived in the city their whole life. I don't often get the chance to talk about personal aspects like that, so it was great to be able to discuss life in Bogotá and life in North Wales.

How I, Angela Blanco, started Light Spanish.

Hi there! It's easy to get carried away when talking about all the ways we help our students. This episode was a great opportunity to discuss my daily life in the UK, how I ended up here, and my connection to this wonderful place. Of course it was important to mention how, thanks to Light Spanish, I've also been able to connect with people from around the world.

How to confidently approach learning, despite what you have been told about education

Whether it was good or bad, our experiences with education during childhood are just a tiny fragment of what we're capable of experiencing while learning. Unfortunately, sometimes the consequences of bad experiences with learning can stay with us for life.

In this section, we discuss the reasons why we might hesitate before learning a new skill, and the unconscious beliefs that often hold people back before or after they start learning.

So, how can we learn in the best way possible?

What a great question, isn't it? It's truly amazing how many of us have grown up without knowing the answer. During our time with Sanny, we discussed various learning styles and how our students have been able to take advantage of them by recognizing their own unique set of skills (or superpowers!). These skills are meant to be utilized so that you can improve in any area you set your mind to. They will help you to provide the self-confidence you will need along the process.

Overall, this episode was a great introduction to who I am, why I do what I do, and how you can start learning to use your superpowers to your advantage.

If you haven't already, why not take our quiz to discover one of your superpowers for mastering Spanish?

You can find the link right here. Have fun!
